Commissioner for Belt and Road visited Astana, Kazakhstan

The Commissioner for Belt and Road (CBR) was invited by the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan to visit Astana, Kazakhstan on 15-16 June 2017 principally to attend the “Astana Economic Forum 2017” and to speak at its high-level conference - "The Next Chapter for Globalization: An Uncertain Future". This annual forum was organised by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan for international discussion of economic development issues concerning both Central Asia and the entire world.

During the visit, CBR met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, First Vice-Minister for Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and President of Nazarbayev University, to exchange views on the Belt and Road Initiative and explore co-operation opportunities between Hong Kong and Kazakhstan.
