Capacity Building

The Belt and Road Office of the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau is coordinating with some 20 different public organisations and institutions to consolidate a list of the Belt and Road Capacity Building Platforms in Hong Kong. The Platforms provide training covering a wide range of areas for the personnel of Belt and Road (B&R) countries, including transport and logistics, financial services, legal services, development and construction, environment and ecology, innovation and technology, health and integrity, etc. Subject to the operation of the Platforms, the relevant capacity building programmes may be delivered through various modes, including courses (online and/or physical), international conferences and exchange visits, etc. Some organisations and institutions would also tailor-make training courses for B&R personnel specifically.

Through training personnel from B&R countries, we hope to further enhance Hong Kong's soft power branding, showcase Hong Kong to overseas as a partner in cross‑professional and cross‑regional “soft connectivity” of rules and standards, and promote people‑to‑people bond with B&R countries.
