Business delegation to Vietnam (09-12-2025 to 12-12-2025)

The Commissioner for Belt and Road, Mr Nicholas Ho, led a delegation to visit Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and Hanoi in Vietnam from December 9 to 12, 2025 to explore business opportunities. Four memoranda of understanding and commercial agreements were witnessed during the visit, covering SME co-operation, sustainable development and shared mobility.

Members of the delegation met with Vietnamese government officials, transport infrastructure operators and representatives from enterprises and chambers of commerce to understand the latest local developments and share experiences.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the delegation met with the HCMC People's Committee, the Department of Finance, the Department of Construction, the Airports Corporation of Vietnam, and local enterprises to strengthen Hong Kong-Vietnam ties and promote Hong Kong's professional services.

In Hanoi, the delegation met with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Science and Technology to explore collaboration in financial services and innovation technology. Discussions were also held with the Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Management Board and Vietnam Railway Corporation regarding railway infrastructure development.

The Belt and Road Office and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Singapore jointly hosted business luncheons with the Hong Kong Business Association Vietnam and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry respectively in HCMC and Hanoi. The events attracted close to 100 business leaders from Vietnam and Hong Kong, showcasing Hong Kong's strengths as a functional platform for the Belt and Road Initiative while fostering mutual understanding and connectivity.

The delegation also paid courtesy calls on Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam and Chinese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City.
